Cozumel Island is located 12 miles off the mainland of Mexico. It is made up of limestone and is 30 miles long and 10 miles wide. It's not very big, but rich with birds, even crocodiles and of course the spectacular reef. The limestone is one of the reasons for the beautiful white sand and the spectacular hues of blue. The coastal edge facing the mainland contains many reefs of varying depths and different formations. The Eastern side has beautiful white sandy beaches and huge coral formations with blow holes and crashing waves.
In 1959 Jacques Cousteau discovered Palancar Reef. This was when Cozumel became famous by divers around the world. It is now one the top dive sites in the world with millions of visitors yearly. Cozumel and its rich surrounding waters have captured the hearts of millions. Come sail with us and discover the beauty first hand!
